3M Earplug Litigation
Jacobs & Crumplar is filing product liability actions related to a defective earplug manufactured and sold by 3M COMPANY and AEARO TECHNOLOGIES, LLC on behalf of victims who used Defendants’ dual-ended Combat Arms™ Earplugs – (Version 2 CAEv.2) while in training and/or deployed on active military duty and, as a result of its defective condition, now suffer from hearing loss and tinnitus.
The dual-ended Combat Arms™ Earplugs were designed to protect military and support personnel from hearing damage associated with gunfire, explosions, and loud military equipment. However, due to a design flaw, the earplugs failed to fit properly and loosened when they were most needed, thus rendering them useless in protecting U.S. soldiers from hearing damage. Allegedly, the manufacturer knew about this flaw as far back as 2000 but did nothing to warn users. Soldiers who served between the years of 2003 and 2015 and are suffering from hearing loss may be eligible for compensation.
